Cyan Banister is a self-taught engineer, turned writer, turned investor. She is known for her ability to spot (very early) some of the most impactful technology companies in the world. Her first ever angel investment was SpaceX, and since made many other notable investments that include Uber, Carta, DeepMind, Postmates, Niantic (Pokemon Go), and many more. She was the first female partner at Founders Fund, but decided to leave in March of 2020 to refocus on early stage investments.
